Worst customer service I’ve ever received from the most unprofessional business I’ve ever hired to work on my house. Garage door broke last week when I manually opened it last week due to the recent power outages with the weather. I saw the reviews for Lion Garage Doors and gave them a call. They were quick with a response and had an appointment scheduled within the day. Their associate Raymond came earlier than expected and within 30 mins had the garage door working again. The price was pretty steep, $175 minimum charge, but I expected higher expenses due to the distance I live from Raleigh. Unfortunately that is where the customer service stopped. Five days later the power went out again and I tried manually opening it and the same exact problem happened again. I called Lion Garage Door again frustrated with the same issue that I paid to fix and scheduled an appointment through them for 7:30pm, which is the time they offered to me to fix it. I asked if there was any discount or compensation for this appointment since this is the second time within a week I’ve had this problem, especially since I had it fixed through Lion Garage Doors the first time and all the secretary could tell me was that the mechanic would give me a free estimate for the repair cost. I got a call from the same mechanic, Raymond, at about 6pm and he was noticeably upset after hearing from his secretary that I asked for a discount. After he told me that the charge would be minimum $175, he began blaming me for breaking my garage door again. Instead of asking what was broken and what it would take to actually fix the problem this time, he went off about how I stuck something under the door to break it and that when he fixed the door there was nothing wrong with it. I just told him that he can come look at it and I’d be willing to pay him what he was asking because I didn’t have time to find another mechanic. Then he began to complain that he had to drive all the way to Sanford from Raleigh, even though that was the time offered by and scheduled through his secretary. If he didn’t want to work at that time, then they shouldn’t offer after hours servicing. He reluctantly told me he’d be there by 7:30...then 8:00 rolled around with him still not at my house. At 8, I get a call from his boss and he told me that the gated community I live in wouldn’t let him in even though I called in a pass for him. After speaking with his boss, I called the gatehouse to see why they didn’t let him in and they told me that they offered him his gate pass but he refused to take is as he said his name wasn’t Raymond while he became extremely disgruntled with the gatehouse and just left. Instead of calling me, I guess he called his boss to blame me for not calling in a pass. This was by far the most unprofessional business I’ve ever worked with as a homeowner and hope this review helps future homeowners avoid the frustration of working with this company.
